Vaishno Devi Bhawan
Significance: The Vaishno Devi Bhawan, located at an altitude of 5,200 feet, is the main shrine where the Goddess is worshipped in the form of natural rock formations known as the “Pindis.” The journey to the Bhawan involves a trek of about 12 kilometers from the base camp at Katra.
Activities: Devotees undertake the trek with great devotion, chanting “Jai Mata Di” along the way. The pilgrimage is believed to grant the wishes of the devotees and bring spiritual blessings.
Bhairon Temple
Significance: The Bhairon Temple is situated about 2.5 kilometers from the Vaishno Devi Bhawan and is dedicated to Bhairon Nath, whose spirit was forgiven by the Goddess. It is believed that the pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi is incomplete without visiting this temple.
Activities: After paying respects at the Bhawan, pilgrims make their way to the Bhairon Temple to complete their pilgrimage.
